Did you hear the song “Carol of the bells”? And where is this song from?
That's right, from Ukraine. The author of music and musical treatment was well-known
Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych.

Words of song "Shchedryk" were
taken from a famous Ukrainian folk shchedrivka - a song of good wishes, which sings
during the winter holidays. A song is about the swallow, which flew to the host
of house and tell him about happy and rich next year. In the US, it became
known after 1922 in New York, where famous Ukrainian Choir sang the song
"Shchedryk". In 1936, radio worker Peter Vilhovskyy created the
English version the words to the song. The song reminded him of bells music,
and therefore later called Carol of the bells.
The American version is performed by many
musicians in various arrangements, sounds in films (Home alone) and
advertising. The most famous band that played "Shchedryk" was Metallica. One
